Job Description

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for supporting management of programs to ensure they are executed as planned and that the customer and regulatory requirements are met.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

1.      Supports the management of Programs from conception through completion while meeting all internal, customer and regulatory requirements.

2.      Provides support to project management to ensure project goals and deliverables are met.

3.      Supports and manages project budget.

4.      Provides technical interface between external supply base, program development leaders and Design & Process Engineering to meet defined technology objectives.

5.      Ensure effective communication with customers and interested parties throughout project life cycle.

6.      Communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

7.      Attends relevant internal and external technical meetings and design reviews.

8.      Participates in product verification and validation activities.

9.      Provides training and installation support to Customers and End-Users.

10.  Ensures all technical documentation is generated in compliance with Change Control procedure and Configuration Management processes.

11.  Proactively supports changes in project scope, identifies risk and supports contingency and risk mitigation plans.

12.  Collaborates with other engineering functions to aid and assist in project and product transitions.

13.  Supports the quoting and proposal process by providing technical information, NRE, travel, labor, and special testing costs.

14.  Participates in the Contract Review and Contract Kick-Off process, USG, Customer, and Third Party audits.

15.  Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.

16.  Maintains a safe and clean work area.

17.  Performs additional duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related field.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, standards and specifications.
  • Proficient in relevant software such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Project, Solid Works and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards including meeting qualitative and quantitative productivity standards.
  • Compliance with all personnel policies.
  • Requires use of and access to information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Must read, write and speak English.
  • Requires eligibility for a government security clearance.
  • Bonus: Military experience and two (2) years of experience in project management.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Requires sitting or standing for a prolonged period of time.
  • Requires dexterity and coordination to handle files, boxes and materials.
  • Requires minimum reaching for items above and below desk level.
  • Requires strength, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.

§  Requires walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

§  Requires repetitive movements with fingers, hands, wrist, and arms.

§  Requires traveling when needed.
