Sub Contractor Liaison

Job Description

The Sub Contractor Liaison is responsible for supervising the work and activities in all manners of the day-to-day operation of the Supply Chain Division that relates to Sub-Contractor services for the Company. This person creates, reviews, evaluates, and monitors Sub-Contractor purchase requisitions for proper authorizations, specification and correct end user specifications. Also, this person assists in the evaluation of goods and services as required.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

1.      Responsible for tracking, updating, editing and maintaining production work orders throughout the operation process.

2.      Generates reports, data entry and controlled data collections.

3.      Reviews, evaluates, and monitors department purchase requisitions for proper authorizations and correct end user specifications as well as assisting in the evaluation of goods and services as needed.

4.      Negotiates prices and terms; makes vendors recommendations for supplies, equipment and services.

5.      Contact suppliers for prices and availability and analyzes cost comparison to determine appropriate vendor.

6.      Creates Suppliers accounts in Oracle System.

7.      Evaluates bids and the dependability of Sub-Contractors and monitor their progress.

8.      Assists in maintaining the goals, standards and objectives of the Supply Chain Department as well as Safety standards.

9.      Responsible for analyzing lead-times.

10.  Prepares shipments for Sub-Contractors and DR plant.

11.  Coordinates and executed all work orders for DR plant.

12.  Manages and controls all materials shipped inbound and outbound.

13.  Works closely with customer service and production personnel to maintain an “on-time deliveries”.

14.  Interacts with Sub-Contractors, and inter-departmental personnel.

15.  Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.

16.  Maintains a safe and clean work area.

17.  Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Import and export experience is required.
  • Two (2) years of relevant purchasing or logistic experience with a focus on warehouse/inventory management and transportation management.
  • Ability to use computer software and applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function for this position
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Requires a combination of walking, standing and sitting for prolonged period of time.
  • Requires dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper.
  • Requires occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Requires minimum reaching for items above and below desk level.
  • Requires strength, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
