Government Source Inspection (GSI) Supervisor

Job Description

Position Summary: The Government Source Inspection (GSI) Supervisor is responsible for ensuring preparation and presentation of all TPG products and records presented for GSI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

  • Follow process requirements as listed on the Government Source Inspection Standard Operating Procedure (TPG-SOP-GSI);
  • Ensure all activities on GSI Checklists are completed prior to notifying DCMA of inspection readiness;
  • Support production and quality control functions in gathering of electronic and hard copy records required for GSI.
Ensure all electronic and hard copy records are available as required during GSI;
  • Ensure that electronic files requiring storage in designated DCMA folders are readily available.
Oversee GSI Lot Pulls as required; Responsible for preparation of finished goods, records, and required monitoring and measuring tools in TPG GSI Preparation Area;   
  • Responsible for transfer of finished goods, records, and monitoring and measuring tools into DCMA inspection area.
Communicate to Quality System Manager readiness of GSI area and records for DCMA inspection; Report concerns and/or issues related to the GSI process to the Quality System Manager; and Participate in final packaging and shipment processing preparation prior to submission of DD250 to DCMA.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications/requirements: Must be fluent in the English language in both written and oral form; bi-lingual in Spanish language also required. Must have experience and be capable to read technical documents; drawings, specifications, manuals. Must be computer literate, to include MS Office. Must have strong communication and decision making skills.

 

OTHER Qualifications/requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

 

Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.

 

May be required to work daily overtime and occasional weekends.

 

Compliance with all personnel policies.

 

This position requires use of and access to information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  Accordingly, all GSI Supervisors must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Regularly required to stand, and move about the facility. Regularly required to perform physical work with hands during entire shift. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Work usually performed in a production floor. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, unless otherwise noted by safety signage.

Education/Training/Experience: High School level education or equivalent; minimum 1 year experience working within the manufacturing industry and/or quality control. Experience working for an ISO 9001/AS9100 certified company preferred.
