Sample Room Supervisor

Department: Manufacturing Overhead

Job Description


The Sample Room Supervisor is responsible for supervising the non-ballistic sewing and cutting employees. This person is also responsible for maintaining inventory and machine maintenance.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

1.      Process Sample Requests

2.      Manage sample inventory and tag new samples when requested.

3.      Responsible for warehousing the production samples.

4.      Manage and supervise employees including assigning tasks, supervising work performed and managing hours and vacations.

5.      Manage minor repairs of samples

6.      Creates and maintains target dates for completion of actions and projects.

7.      Keeps up to date with newly released samples and deactivates old and outdated samples.

8.      Supports Sales, Production and Quality organizations by informing the newest samples and ensuring old and non-conforming samples are destroyed.

9.      Works closely with Production to improve service delivery.

10.  Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment or procedures to improve safety, quality and efficiency.

11.  Implements existing production standards and makes adjustments as necessary to produce products within specifications.

12.  Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks.

13.  Maintains a safe and clean work area.

14.  Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.

15.  Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Management: Structures and directs others to ensure Company goals are met from coaching, leading, organizing and self-managing. This also includes promoting Company objectives and demonstrating the way to achieve them, coordinating ideas, prioritizing tasks by importance and deadline, keeping a quick pace without sacrificing quality, maintaining composure in stressful situations and tactfully handling challenges or tense interpersonal situations.


  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, speak and understand Basic English.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in supervision of production staff, working with quality, maintenance and plant management on a daily basis desired.
  • Minimum two (2) to five (5) years of experience in a related role or in an apparel manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Programs
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Bonus: Sewing, Fabric or textile manufacturing environment experience.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit or stand for a prolonged period of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
