Junior Ballistic Range Technician

Job Description


 To perform ballistic testing and evaluation on all types of personal body armor pertaining to both Research and Development and Quality Control.



Essential duties and accountabilities

    Perform ballistic tests based on the given standards. Prepare ballistic evaluations of all new designs. Maintain data development and analysis. Conduct material review and acceptance of vendor materials. Perform final ballistic testing/inspection of all products. Maintain inventory of all R & D fabrics. Understand specifications and standards required to perform ballistic testing.
      Must work well under pressure, organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines. Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely. Must be flexible, handling changes in work requirements productively, and perform other tasks as assigned. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of on-going projects.

      §  Bachelor of Science degree or 5 years of experience in a related field.

      §  Requires good knowledge of product requirements associated with ballistics.

      §  Comprehensive knowledge of the Military Ballistics Test Standards.

      §  Working knowledge of standard laboratory practices.

      §  Intermediate to strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

      §  Ability to review and analyze ballistics data and test samples.

      §  Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

      §  Must be authorized to work in the USA.

      physical demands

      §  Requires sitting or standing for a long period of time.

      §  Requires moderate physical effort such as walking through-out the building to collect samples.

      §  The ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
