Job Title:                QUALITY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Quality Management System

Reports To:    Quality System Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: The Quality Systems Specialist shall support the Management Representative to ensure compliance of requirements to the ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards and to customer and regulatory requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Quality Systems

Ø  Conduct Quality Management System trainings and review courses;

Ø  Conduct Process and Records Audits;

Ø  Support Corrective Action Program;

o   Document, Track, and Control Corrective Actions ;

o   Verify Implementation of Containment & Corrective Actions;

o   Audit effectiveness of Corrective Actions; and

o   Maintain compliance logs and support documentation for the process.

Ø  Support Continuous Improvement Program

o   Document, Track, and Control Continuous Improvement proposals;

o   Verify Implementation of Continuous Improvement Activities;

o   Audit effectiveness of Continuous Improvements; and

o   Maintain compliance logs and support documentation for the process.

Ø  Provide support for First Article Inspection Process to ensure compliance with internal procedures and AS9102;

Ø  Ensure employees are aware of quality system requirements and how they impact quality objective results and customer satisfaction;

Ø  Create and updated company processes and procedures related to the quality management system;

Ø  Support risk management process as required by the Risk Management Procedure [TPG-SOP-RISK];

o   Ensure timely completion, implementation, and risk acceptance for each risk management plan.

Ø  Support TPG’s Gate Process [TPG-SOP-GATE];

o   Ensure all sales orders, commercial product lines, and internal R&D efforts are carried out through TPG’s Gate Process;

o   Ensure all projects run through the Gate Process are active at the current stage of activity, and all Gate Summary Forms accurately reflect state of project.

Ø  Provide quality system data for monthly QMS meetings and any other required data for Management Review Meetings;

Ø  Complete quality system surveys and questionnaires;

Ø  Prepare quality system related documentation packages as per solicitation and contractual requirements.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

 

Qualifications/requirements:

§  2 - 4 years related QA experience in a manufacturing environment.

§  2-4 years’ experience with AS9100 requirements and reporting.

§  Internal Auditor Certification with 2 years auditing experience minimum

§  Experience creating quality management systems documents.

§  Knowledge of Risk Assessment principles

§  Ability to identify compliance issues.

§  Knowledge of statistical principles and tools

§  Strong analytical skills

§  Ability to read blueprints/part drawings with general understanding of Geometric 

§  Dimensioning and Tolerance GD&T

§  Detail oriented, methodically and accurate document information

§  Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

§  Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively

§  Ability to travel

§  Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

 

Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.

 

Compliance with all personnel policies

 

This position requires use of and access to information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  Accordingly, all Quality Systems Specialists must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Four year technical degree, or equivalent training and experience desired.
