Job Title:                SYSTEMS ENGINEER   

Reports To:    Director of Engineering

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Position Summary:  Responsible for Systems Engineering technical activities.   Develop and analyze documents to generate and manage system requirements for programs.  Manage program requirements to ensure all aspects of customer requirements are met.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

    Responsible for requirements development, implementation and management on all programs within TPG Responsible for requirements change management Responsible for DOORS management and requirements management within modules Other responsibilities of this position may include to installation, trouble shooting, technical support, upgrades, configuration management, and documentation development Candidate will interface with Mechanical and Structures Engineers on a regular basis Manage requirements and decompose subject requirements into their respective components Candidate must have experience in Project Planning and should have a working knowledge of MS Project Candidate should have experience in performing Root Cause Analysis and implementing corrective action in order to correct deficiencies Ability to author, develop and implemental departmental/corporate procedures Develop and maintain Internal and External Interface Control Documents Develop documentation in support of customer requirements i.e. SDRLs/CDRLs Develop, generate and execute test plans in support of program validation and verification Develop Validation Reports in support of ballistic lab testing Develop Technical Reports in support of department Coordinates projects by monitoring and maintaining Gate process and schedules Ability to participate in bid and proposal process i.e. generate Basis of Estimates and System Specifications Availability to traveling to support to off-site meetings/events to represent the program as required

    Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.


    Qualifications/requirements:  Detail oriented with ability to multi-task in a fast moving environment with shifting priorities and changing requirements. Bilingual (English/Spanish) desired, but not required, with strong communication and decision making skills. Candidate must have experience in Project Planning and should have a working knowledge of MS Project Availability to traveling to support to off-site meetings/events to represent the program as required

     

    EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: The minimum requirement for this position is BS + 4 years experience. BS must be from a 4-year degree from an ABET accredited institution. The degree may be in aerospace/aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering or other related engineering discipline.

     

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:  Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

     

    Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.

     

    Compliance with all personnel policies

     

    This position requires use of and access to information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).  Accordingly, all Systems Engineers must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.  ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Temporary Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    This position also requires that the Systems Engineer be eligible for a government security clearance.
