FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary: Responsible for identifying quality assurance methods that reduce the potential for process and product nonconformities, enhancing monitoring and measurement methods, and supporting the Organization in process and product performance analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement methods for manufacturing and quality control that improve the dependability and reliability of processes to prevent and/or detect frequency of process and product failures;
  • Generate preventative quality techniques to improve product quality, reduce in-process and final product nonconformities, and reduction of scrap;
  • Establish statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error for processes;
  • Identify monitoring, measuring, and inspection tools that should be used for manufacturing and quality control;  
  • Work with management to investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing and quality control issues;
  • Participate with Management in Corrective Action processes, to include root cause analyses, to reduce future likelihood of process and/or product failures;
  • Work with suppliers to ensure/improve quality trends through supplier evaluations and participation in supplier corrective action processes;
  • Provide proposals for continuous improvement and automation in the areas of quality inspection, manufacturing, and records management for identification and traceability;
  • Perform process audits to ensure established manufacturing and quality control process instructions are carried out as defined and to identify potential deficiencies and/or areas for improvement that impact the quality of products;
  • Generate failure analysis reports, as required;
  • Participate in Material Review Board, as required; and
  • Support 5S and Lean Manufacturing Initiatives.

Qualifications/requirements: Fully fluent in the English language in both oral and written form. Ability to communicate in Spanish language preferable. Proficient in MS Office. High energy and self-driven individual.

Work usually performed in a production floor. May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the assembly process. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, unless otherwise noted by safety signage.

Education/Training/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Quality/Industrial Engineering or related field required. Minimum of three years’ experience in Quality Control and/or Quality Engineering required. Experience working in a manufacturing environment that is certified to ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 preferred. Capability to read and understand complex assembly drawings and engineering technical documentation required. Experience with statistical analysis required.
