Title: MATERIAL EXPEDITER

Position Summary: Maintain the flow of
materials to production to prevent stock-outs. Distribute materials to the
appropriate areas in the production floor. Collect and dispose of the trash
generated in the production floor.
Essential Duties
and Responsibilities:

Transport materials from the warehouse and other
locations, as required, to the production floor;
·
Distribute materials to the specific production
areas where they are used;
·
Work with Planners and
expedite Production orders through the shop, from Receiving to Finishing;
·
Follow up on materials
shortages;
·
Ensure that Production
lines do not run out of materials;
·
Coordinate materials
flow through all areas;
·
Interact with
Purchasing, QC, Warehouse and Manufacturing, to ensure that orders are
completed on time;
·
Comply with safety rules and comply with
requirements of safety programs applicable to the tasks being carried out, to
include use of Personal Protective Equipment;
·
Report defective materials or nonconforming
product as required;
·
Assist in the production area as required; and
·
Participate on Production meetings.
Qualifications/requirements:
Fluent in the English language, in both oral and written form, required;
bilingual in the Spanish language preferred.
Must be capable of successfully completing the
company’s forklift certification program within 30 days of placement. Must be
qualified to drive the company truck (for transportation among buildings only).

be required to work daily overtime and occasional weekends.

Regularly
required to stand, and move about the facility. Regularly required to perform
physical work with hands during entire shift. The employee must regularly lift

Work usually performed in a production floor. May
work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one
station to another, during the assembly process. The noise level in the work
environment is usually moderate, unless otherwise noted by safety signage.
Education/Training/Experience:
High School level knowledge is required
or an equivalent thereof. Experience in a manufacturing
and/or warehouse environment preferred.
