FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary: Responsible for supporting the execution of general and preventive maintenance of facilities and equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Perform the required repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment and plant facilities as required;

§  Assist in the coordination of equipment installation, analysis of equipment failures, and determination of necessary adjustments and/or repairs;

o   Assist in the coordination of all activities related to the installation of new equipment at the facility and coordinating and scheduling with outside contractors for necessary preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections; and

o   Perform repair and inspections to facilities and equipment as required.

§  Outside Contractors

o   Assist in obtaining certificates of insurance prior to the commencement of any work at TPG facilities;

o   Ensure contractors are aware of TPG safety and security policies, and ensure they work within those guidelines;

o   Assist in consulting with contractors on required PPE for work to be performed and make arrangements for PPE that will be provided by the Company and PPE that shall be required from the contractor; and

o   Ensure outside contractors leave the facilities in acceptable safe and working conditions.

§  Maintenance Department

o   Maintain all areas which belong to the Maintenance department in a clean, and organized manner; and

o   Ensure any areas where maintenance activities are conducted are left clean and organized and free of Foreign Objects.

§  Operator Manuals

o   Support the maintenance of Operator Manuals for all Tooling, Machinery, and Equipment. Submit new or updated operator manuals to Document Control for proper storage and release.

§  Maintenance Procedure

o   Comply with the Facilities Maintenance & Infrastructure Procedure [TPG-SOP-FACILITIES].

§  Identify opportunities for facility upgrades and improvement.


§  Must perform all work within the guidelines of OSHA and other agency regulated requirements;

o   Responsible for consulting with the Facilities Manager on questions or concerns related to compliance with regulatory agencies;

o   Must maintain safety signage as per OSHA requirements;

o   Lock Out Tag Out: Support the implementation of the Company’s Lock Out Tag Out program. The maintenance department shall work with production, warehouse, NPD, and quality team members to ensure that all employees are protected from injuries while equipment is being serviced or maintained; and

o   Machine Guarding & Anchoring: Ensure all equipment is properly guarded and anchored per OSHA requirements.


The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining legible, accurate, and easily retrievable records of all preventive maintenance, installations, and repairs.

Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications/requirements: The Maintenance Technician must be able to communicate in the English language in both oral and written form. The Technician must have knowledge on proper hand tool use and proper material handling while performing duties. Must be forklift certified within 30 days of position appointment.

OTHER Qualifications/requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.

May be required to work daily overtime and occasional weekends.

Compliance with all personnel policies.

Regularly required to stand, and move about the facility. Regularly required to perform physical work with hands during entire shift. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Work usually performed in a production floor. May work at different workstations as maintenance needs require. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, unless otherwise noted by safety signage.

Education/Training/Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; training is derived from working 3+ years in maintenance and/or manufacturing with production machine experience.

Senior Maintenance Technicians shall have experience in maintenance related to complex systems and equipment to include a minimum of five years of experience and familiarity with maintenance-related metrics. The Senior Maintenance Technician shall also have working knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems, basic computing skills, and be able to instruct and oversee work for a team of 3-6 technicians.
