Reports to Technical Support Manager
Summary
The Sewing Machine Mechanic Apprentice is
responsible for conducting sewing machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and
performing preventive maintenance with minimal guidance.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities
1. Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting,
repairs and preventive maintenance service industrial machines, including but
not limited to Sonobond, automatic Juki, bar tack, Velcro, PPAF, 6 needle
Yamato and single needle.
2. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs
of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance
repairs of production equipment during machine service.
3. Prepares
and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
4. Performs mechanic skills including, but
not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting
and repair of production machines.
5. Reads and interprets equipment manuals
and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
6. Complies
with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
7. Diligently
attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks.
8. Responsible
for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.
9. Maintains
a safe and clean work area.
10. Performs
other related duties as required and or as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Able to understand basic work and safety
instructions in English.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential
function for this position
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Requires sitting or standing for a prolonged period
of time.
- Requires bending, stooping, pushing, pulling and
lifting up to 25 lbs.
- May be required to wear hearing protection when machines
are running due to sufficient noise.
