Job Description

Summary

The Product Developer is responsible for developing products based on requirements given to them by their Supervisor. This person also completes development projects by the time provided and has the product ready for production

Essential Duties and Accountabilities 

  1. Modify existing products based on specific customer requests.
  2. Modification includes but is not limited to the following duties.
  1. Interpret specifications and assignments with full understanding.
  2. Create electronic patterns in Gerber Accumark
  3. Suggest design or construction changes to increase efficiency.
  4. Maximize use of internal resources
  5. Adapt the appropriate approach for each situation.
  6. Digitize patterns when required
  7. Working with sewers to prepare samples
  8. Cutting Fabric and Trim when needed.
Prepare modified products for production after customer approval. Preparation includes but, is not limited to the following tasks.
  1. Grade and alter electronic patterns in Gerber Accumark
  2. Create Trim Sheet or Cutters Must
  3. Complete new code checklist
Complete projects within the time allowed. Notifies Supervisor of completion of projects or delays. Supports other co-workers and departments when needed. Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards. Maintains a safe and clean work area. Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Experience with Gerber AccuMark systems. Gerber experience can be substituted with other CAD related background. (Autocad, Optitex, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate in English with reading and writing skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office for example, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Bonus 

  • Experience in Textile industry or fashion 
  • Speaks Spanish

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Requires sitting for a prolonged period of time.
  • Requires dexterity and coordination to handle files and papers lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires minimum reaching for items above and below desk level.
  • Requires strength, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods. 
  • May be required to work additional time to complete projects as necessary.
