Summary

The duties of the R&D Ballistic Lab Data Analyst include the review and correction of all test reports generated by the PBE ballistic range. Management of updates and revisions to any of the R&D ISO procedures, forms, checklist, and any controlled document.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

1.  Compile review and maintains control of test records and related files to ensure the accuracy of information.

2.  Test reports, summaries, reference documents, and independent data.

3.  Record locator and distribution for test data. Supports sales and production.

4.  Closely work with the quality department to ensure ISO compliance.

5.  Confers with document originators or engineering personnel to resolve discrepancies and compile required changes to documents.

6.  Posts changes to computerized or manual control records release documents, and notifies affected departments.

7.  Prepare any R&D-related documents as needed.

8.  Stores and posts changes to computerized or manual data control records.

9.  Prepare requests for documents and prepare reports and memorandums.

10. Assist in maintaining special build documentation and project documentation.

11.  Request quotes from external testing facilities and material suppliers.

12.  Input purchase requisitions into system.

13. Ability to learn ballistic testing to serve as backup to range technicians.

14.  Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.

15.  Maintains a safe and clean work area.

16. Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Basic four-year BS or equivalent hands-on experience of 3 years.
  • Excellent computer and computer software skills to maintain databases and assemble and track projects.
  • Demonstrate solid written communication skills that would support technical specifications and technical reports.
  • Must read, write and understand Basic technically and proficiently.
  • Proficient written and oral skills. Able to write, edit and understand engineering documents, as well as trending spreadsheets.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills extremely important.
  • Team working ability.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Physical Demands

  • Sitting for long periods.
  • Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper.
  • Occasional lifting of items weighing up to (25) twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper, references, and other materials. 
  • Moving from place to place within the office; minimum reaching for items above and below desk level.
  • Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
  • Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.
