Job Description

Summary

The Product Developer is responsible for developing products based on requirements given to them by their Supervisor. This person also completes development projects by the time provided and has the product ready for production.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

1.      Interprets specifications and assignments with full understanding.

2.      Suggests design or construction changes to increase efficiency.

3.      Adapts the appropriate approach for each situation keeping Production/Operations in mind.

4.      Maximizes use of internal resources including systems, equipment, supplies and analytical tools, etc.

5.      Creates patterns for new products including grading and altering new products.

6.      Completes new code checklist.

7.      Creates trim sheets for new products.

8.      Explains product to Sample Makers and instructs them on how to build sample.

9.      Performs minimal cutting or re-cutting duties of fabric and trim when needed.

10.  Complete projects within the time allowed.

11.  Notifies Supervisor of completion of projects or delays.

12.  Digitizes patterns when required.

13.  Supports other co-workers and departments when needed.

14.  Responsible for working according to the company’s safety and quality standards.

15.  Maintains a safe and clean work area.

16.  Performs other related duties as required and or as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Advanced user with Gerber AccuMark systems and includes, but is not limited to, pattern making grading and alterations.
  • Ability to communicate in English with reading and writing skills.
  • Must be able to identify various non-ballistic fabric and trim by color and size on garments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office for example, Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bonus: AutoCAD knowledge, machinery operating knowledge to build garments, familiarity with current styles offered by the Company and Bilingual.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Requires sitting for a prolonged period of time.
  • Requires dexterity and coordination to handle files and papers lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires minimum reaching for items above and below desk level.
  • Requires strength, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
  • May be required to work additional time to complete projects as necessary.
